Hall-Effect Sensor Based Position Sensor for Force Control of a Bendable Tubular Linear Motor

This paper deals with the implementation of a Hall-Effect sensor based linear position sensor for bendable tubular linear synchronous motors. The sensor is analyzed with Finite Element Analysis and a prototype is studied experimentally. The analysis proofs the functionality of the sensor. Using the prototype, a simple open-loop force controller is realized.
